The past never disappears completely, remains are preserved and shape future generations.
The sculpture »Stacked« deals with the history of the city of Tuttlingen, which burned almost completely in 1803 and was then rebuilt. The shingles represent man-made artifacts that outlast their time.
How layered sediments in the rock make the history of the earth legible, the 53 layers of the sculpture illustrate how something was rebuilt on what was destroyed.
