This is a kind of blog in which I inform about upcoming events, things of interest and extras around my work.
What are these little metallic shiny green fragments? Deck wings from big rose beetles. I found nearly all of them and other beetle parts at the very same place in the forest. I directly began working with them and hopefully I can present you soon an new work containing these little treasures.
From 09.06.2021 until 08.07.2021 the exhibition »NATÜRLICH« at the Regierungspräsidium in Karlsruhe Germany will be open for guests.You can visite it every day from 11.00 am to 18.00 pm.
This is a sneak peek at a project I'm currently working on. The shown pictures are details of analog black and white photographies composed out of old glass plate negatives. I layered two or three negatives to obtain composite images, sometimes I blurred the pictures on purpose to receive a stronger alienation. These faces are so blurred that you aren't able to recognize the shown people. But during this work I also discovered how faces stay visible when they get mixed with pattern from clothings or plants. Even the face recognition of my Smartphone identified them.
I am working these days a lot with antique and old glass plate negatives from 1885 to 1940. During that work for an upcoming project I also experiment with the glass plates them selves how they react with the light of my light table.
